SUPPORTERS of the former superintendent and five serving gardai - who were cleared this Monday afternoon after a nine-week trial - gave them a rapturous reception as they left court 3 in Limerick Courthouse.
Garda Colm Geary was first to walk out where family, friends, current and former garda colleagues, members of the Garda Síochána Retired Members’ Association and the Garda Representative Association were waiting.
They clapped loudly and cheered as Garda Geary was first to make his way through the cheering crowd. Next was Sergeant Michelle Leahy who was hugged by supporters. Garda Tom McGlinchey was at the side with his wife and daughter.

Last to leave the courtroom was married couple - former Superintendent Eamon O’Neill and his wife Garda Anne-Marie Hassett. Cheers erupted for the couple. Hands were shook nad shoulders slapped.
They made their way through the crowd, down the stairs and out of Limerick Courthouse following the conclusion of the nine-week trial.
