WATCH: Ahane senior hurler Tom Morrissey: 'We would love to get out of the group and see a quarter-final'

Ahane defeated Patrickswell in round four of the Limerick SHC on Friday evening

"We finished with four points last year but didn't get out of the group. We're on three points going into the last round, I think we have finished fifth in the last five years. We would love to get out of the group and see a quarter-final. We have to win the last day out if that's going to be a possibility," said Ahane senior hurler Tom Morrissey after their victory over Patrickswell. 

Ahane defeated Patrickswell 1-21 to 2-14 in round four of the Whitebox Limerick Senior Hurling Championship on Friday evening in Claughaun.  

This result now means that Ahane have retained their group one status in the Limerick senior hurling championship for the 2026 season. Meanwhile Patrickswell will play in group two of the senior hurling championship next year. After a draw and two defeats in their opening Ahane got their first win in the SHC.

John Meskell’s side are still in the hunt for a knockout spot, but they’ll need to beat Doon in their final group game and hope other results go their way. 

Tom Morrissey was impressive scoring form hitting 0-10 for Ahane against Patrickswell in round four of the Limerick SHC. 

After Ahane's victory over Patrickswell, Tom Morrissey caught up with Leader Sport's Paul Shaughnessy.
