WATCH: Granagh-Ballingarry manager John O'Connor reflects on Limerick premier intermediate hurling championship win

Granagh-Ballingarry defeated Glenroe 1-18 to 0-19 at Kilmallock on Friday night

GRANAGH-BALLINGARRY opened their Lyons of Limerick premier intermediate hurling championship campaign with a hard fought 1-18 to 0-19 victory over Glenroe at Kilmallock on Friday evening. 

The winners, who trailed by two points, 0-7 to 0-9, produced an improved second half display to secure the two precious points on offer, helped by a crucial 48th minute goal from Sean O'Connor.

Granagh-Ballingarry will take on South Liberties in their second group fixture on Saturday next, August 2 in Adare, 7pm.

Glenroe, meanwhile, switch their focus to a crucial second round meeting with Effin on Thursday evening nxt, July 31, in Kilfinane, 7pm.
