WATCH: Blackrock eager to put things right in Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship says Jimmy Quilty

Blackrock face Bruff in Knocklong on Sunday evening at 7pm

“Obviously the goal at the start of the year is to get to the top four and see what happens from there. We didn't pick up enough points (last year) and we are eager to rectify that and to try and pick up as many points as possible and guarantee ourselves into that top four spot,” said Blackrock's Jimmy Quilty at the launch of the Lyons of Limerick Premier Hurling Championship

Quilty was previously part of John Kiely's Limerick senior hurling squad. The Mary Immaculate college student was hurling for Fr Tom Burke's in Boston during the summer. 

Quilty's father Jimmy who was previously a selector with the Limerick senior hurling team is in charge of the Kilfinane based club.

Last year, Blackrock missed out on qualifying for the knockout stages of the premier intermediate championship. Blackrock begin their Limerick premier intermediate hurling championship campaign against Bruff on Sunday evening in Knocklong at 7pm.

Ahead of the championship, Blackrock's Jimmy Quilty spoke with Leader Sport.
