Limerick and Tipperary played out a thrilling 2-23 each draw in Thurles on Easter Sunday

LIMERICK opened their bid for an unprecedented seventh Munster senior hurling title in a row with a thrilling 2-23 each draw with Tipperary in front of 32,295 spectators at FDB Semple Stadium, Thurles on Sunday.

The dramatic game produced 50 scores, including four terrific goals, as the Munster rivals opened their campaign with a share of the spoils.

John Kiely's Limerick side will return to action with a Saturday, May 3 meeting with Waterford at Walsh Park, 6pm.
