Everything you need to know for three big Limerick concerts at Thomond Park

Your ultimate guide to a seamless weekend with The Script and The Wolfe Tones

THOMOND Park is gearing up for a weekend of homegrown Irish talent, featuring The Script and The Wolfe Tones live on stage in Limerick.

Ahead of these shows, MCD Productions and An Garda Síochána have issued a number of public information notices for all concert goers to ensure a safe and fun weekend.

They warn that no camping or queuing is allowed before the doors open on all three days.

“If patrons turn up early, they will be turned away at restricted area points around the venue,” says MCD. “Queuing in streets around the venue will cause disruption to residents of the area and we appeal to patrons to heed this advice and respect the local community. Customers should plan to be within the venue 30 mins before the show starts.”

“Thomond Park is in a residential area. We would appeal to all concert goers to respect the local community by not littering, not engaging in anti-social behaviour and by not parking illegally. Please respect the neighbours.” says MCD.

All attending are advised to “Obey the stewards and Gardaí and instructions given over the public address for your own safety.”

Limerick Gardaí have also put up a video informing the public of all road closure and safety measures set to be in place over the course of the weekend.

“There will be an additional policing presence all around the stadium and city centre over the course of the weekend,” says superintendent Andrew Lacey.

The event is set to take place no matter the forecast on the day so patrons are advised to “Please check the forecast and dress accordingly for Irish weather – think boots or runners, layers, raincoats/ ponchos and sun cream but remember no umbrellas.”

Strict security will be in operation with MCD informing, “Everyone will be subject to a search permissible under law, per Purchase Policy. It is a condition of entry, to protect everyone’s safety. Additional searches may take place once inside the venue.”

“Patrons are especially advised not to bring large bags/backpacks as they may experience delays or be refused entry. There will be no storage facilities on site. Any items left at entrances/in surrounding areas will be removed and disposed of accordingly.”

“Bags larger than A4, glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, signs/flags bigger than A3, flag poles, flares, selfie sticks, iPads, laptops, cameras and audio recording equipment will not be permitted”

When entering the concert grounds, MCD advises: “There are several entry routes. You must enter through whichever gate is detailed on your ticket. Show your ticket at the ticket check outside the venue for inspection.”

“There are no re-admissions to the concert. If you leave, there is no re-entry.” warns MCD.
