LIMERICK'S very own Paralympian Róisín Ní Ríain has thanked the city and county's public for the support they have given her.
It was a proud day for Róisín as she was grand marshal in this Monday's St Patrick's Day parade which drew a crowd of up to 70,000 to the city.
The swimmer was honoured by the parade organisers after picking up a silver medal at last summer's Paralympic games, to go with a huge number of other accolades in her support.

"It's such a great honour to be grand marshal for the day," she said.
Roisin added the parade represents a great way of beinging everyone together.
She added: "The support never goes unnoticed and it just means so so much"
Mayor of Limerick John Moran donned his robes and chain of office to walk the route of the parade before all the performers.
He was joined by "the first dog" Henri and took time out to meet members of the public along the route, which starrted in O'Connell Avenue and was diverted into Henry Street where the viewing stand was.
There, Mayor Moran joined his partner Damien to witness the spectacle.
"It's amazing. People are having so much fun and are so welcoming," he said.
