WATCH: Gardaí unveil another year of anticipated Limerick Garda Divisional Youth Awards

THE LIMERICK Garda Divisional Youth Awards have been launched and Limerick gardaí aim to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young individuals between the ages of 13 and 21 within the Limerick Garda Division.

In a collaboration with Garvey's Group, comprising Garvey's Supervalu, Centra Newcastle West, and Centra Adare, the awards have been specifically designed to applaud the volunteering efforts of young people and acknowledge those who have triumphed over personal challenges.

With the awards, now in their 9th year, Gardaí and Garvey's Group recognise the positive impact young individuals have in communities throughout the Limerick Garda Division and are keen to express their appreciation.

Chief Superintendent, Derek Smart officially launched the Limerick Garda Divisional Youth Awards on Tuesday, October 21, at Garvey’s Supervalu in Corbally.

The awards seek nominations for young individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to their local areas, be it through volunteering, fundraising activities, or raising awareness of important issues. Nominations are open to individuals, community and voluntary groups, schools, youth clubs, and other organisations.

Nomination forms can be obtained from the Garda website under the Garda Youth Awards section. Forms will also be distributed to all second-level schools, youth clubs, and various services across Limerick. Individuals requiring a nomination form can contact the Juvenile Liaison Office at Mayorstone garda station at 061 456986 or 085 8852588.

The awards ceremony is anticipated to take place on March 20, 2024, at the Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel and Spa in Adare.
