WATCH: Finucane Memorial sculptor discusses reasons for hunger striking in Limerick

FOLLOWING on from his 74th birthday, activist and sculptor Tom Roche has begun a hunger strike over a conflict of interest between Unicef Ireland and oil company Texaco.

Tom is striking at the Finucane Memorial which he created at Barrington’s Pier over Munster Rugby legend Donncha O’Callaghan’s involvement with both organisations.

On one hand, Tom applauds the great humanitarian work that Unicef Ireland but completely disagrees with the work of fossil fuel company, Texaco.

Donncha O’Callaghan is a board member of Unicef Ireland and is also sports ambassador for Texaco.
