THIRTY thousand fans poured into Thomond Park on Friday night to welcome Dermot Kennedy to Limerick for the first of his three gigs across the weekend.
Despite dark skies throughout the day, the sun was shining Friday evening and there is no doubt that these three nights will be special for the crowds attending.
Limerick fans queued early along with a number of people from across the country including County Tipperary, Clare, Cork and even London to see the Dublin pop star perform.

We caught up with some of the fans awaiting the gig and a popular song of Dermot’s ‘Giants’ proved to be the favourite amongst the crowds.
Support acts on the nights include Limerick band KingFishr, Nell Mescall and international singer-sogwriter Cian Ducrot.
The ‘Power Over Me’ singer expressed his excitement ahead of his Limerick gigs on his Instagram earlier in the week saying; “To be able to play to thirty thousand fans, three nights in a row is something that is hard to process and was very hard to believe one day. Let’s make these nights so so special”
