A VIDEO of a man showing off his wheelie skills on a scrambler has gone viral but not for the reasons he would wish.
The clip, which has been forwarded many times on WhatsApp, features the scrambler rider in mid-air on a footpath on William Street in Limerick city.
However, he fails to stop at the junction with Wickham Street and is involved in a collision with a vehicle. He quickly gets up and makes a run for it, leaving his scrambler behind. A garda can be seen in the video in hot pursuit.
A garda spokesperson confirmed officers in Henry Street are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 12.15pm on William Street in Limerick on Thursday, February 9.
"No injuries were reported. Enquiries are ongoing," said the garda spokesperson.
It is not known if the garda caught up with the scrambler rider.
