Ballylanders defeated Na Piarsaigh in the senior football relegation final to retain their top flight status for 2026

BALLYLANDERS secured their Irish Wire Products Limerick senior football status for 2026 thanks to a deserved 1-14 to 0-13 relegation final win over Na Piarsaigh at Doon on Saturday afternoon.

It was the fourth year in succession that Ballylanders retained their top flight status with a victory on the final day of the season.

Ballylanders led the play-off game 1-9 to 0-7 at half-time and while Na Piarsaigh closed to within two points of their opponents in the 58th minute, Bally' added two more points late on to secure a precious win.

Leader Sport caught up with Ballylanders captain and goalkeeper Declan O'Connor after the game to get his reaction to the victory.
