LIMERICK have been beaten in this year's Tailteann Cup final following a two-point loss to Kildare at Croke Park.

The Lilywhites ran out 1-24 to 2-19 winners after a pulsating contest. Goals from Cillian Fahy and Killian Ryan ensured Limerick were well in it until the final kick of the game but to Kildare's credit they showed excellent resolve to get over the line, claiming their first-ever Tailteann Cup.
After the match, Limerick manager Jimmy Lee spoke to the media, the Newcastle West native full of pride after his side's efforts.
