"WHEN is the best time to meet them" was the reaction of Fr Casey's senior footballer Daniel Daly as he spoke about the challenges of meeting 2023 champions Newcastle West in their opening round fixture of the Irish Wire Products Ltd County Senior Football Championship this coming Friday evening in Tournfulla.
Casey's have already captured the senior league title this year and will be going into the 2024 championship full of confidence. Like many other teams in the senior championship Fr Casey's are now relying on their younger players to make their mark on the team and progress to the starting 15.
Speaking at the launch of the 2024 championship Daniel Daly went on to say: "We won the U21 championship the last two seasons in-a-row and those players have filtered through our team and there is a mixture of three or four older lads so we have all gelled well. We are hoping for two wins from two, like our coaches say winning breeds momentum."
