SHOCKING videos have emerged of bullet holes in a bedroom window and a front door after a house was shot up in Limerick city.
The videos also show smoke emanating from a burnt out car that was firebombed outside the property.
The gun and arson attacks occurred in the early hours of Sunday, April 13. However, the videos, which were taken inside the house in Ballincaurra Weston, have just emerged in recent days. They have been widely shared on social media.
A bullet hole is shown in the carpet of a step of a stairs after a bullet was fired through the front door. Another short video shows three bullet holes in a bedroom window upstairs.
Limerick gardai discovered an explosive device after responding to a car fire and reports of shots fired at a house.
The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called in from Cork to make the suspect device safe.
A garda spokesperson confirmed to Limerick Live that officers in Roxboro Road garda station were alerted to a car on fire outside a residence in Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick city in the early hours of Sunday, April 13.
“At approximately 2am, gardaí requested the fire brigade who attended the scene and extinguished the car on fire,” said the garda spokesperson.
The residents of the house reported to gardaí that shots were discharged at the house and had caused criminal damage, said the garda spokesperson. No persons were injured in either the car fire or shooting.

“While at the scene, gardaí noticed a suspect device on the ground. A cordon was established and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene.
“The EOD team examined the suspect device and subsequently made it safe. The device was taken away by EOD for further examination and the cordon was lifted.
“Investigations are ongoing,” said the garda spokesperson.
The attack is understood to be connected to an ongoing feud between rival factions on the southside of the city.
Two days later - Tuesday, April 15 - a number of homes had to be evacuated when the EOD squad were called in to deal with another suspect device.
On the same day, Limerick gardai raided 17 addresses which led to the seizure of cash and other goods with an estimated value of over €235,000.
A garda spokesperson said: “This search operation forms part of an ongoing Garda investigation aimed at disrupting a criminal group that is involved in an ongoing feud in the southside of Limerick city which has resulted in pipe bomb and arson attacks, the discharge of firearms, drug dealing and other serious incidents.”
