THOUSANDS of Limerick fans have gathered at Pery Square in the city centre to welcome home the Limerick hurlers and the Liam MacCarthy cup.
Ahead of the arrival of the players and management team onto the stage at Pery Square, the Limerick Leader/Limerick Live caught up with some fans as they expressed their excitement: "Ecstatic. Absolutely ecstatic," said Jack Byrnes from Ahane/Castleconnell, now living in O'Briensbridge.
"I'm 69 years of age and I personally didn't think I would ever see an All-Ireland having been at all the defeats and all the disappointments, I thought we would never get there. But here we are - four-in-a-row," he added.
When asked if they thought we would go for five in a row next year, David Twoomey from Garryowen said: "Yes, but we'll enjoy today first and enjoy the four in a row.
"We didn't think we were going to win four in a row, not even one, but what John Kiely has done with this team, the players - it's unbelievable."
Make sure to get your copy of this week's souvenir edition of the Limerick Leader newspaper, including a glossy poster - on sale from Wednesday.
