THERE are fears for local jobs after A|Wear stores around the country including the two Limerick stores in the city centre and in the Crescent Shopping Centre closed their doors this Thursday afternoon.
The closures took place shortly after the company was placed in receivership.
A decision is expected to be made tomorrow in relation to the future of the clothing chain.
When the Limerick Leader visited the store on William Street in the city this Thursday afternoon, clothes were being removed from the rails.
A|wear had been trading under the protection of an examiner since October 8, with a view to restructuring the business to put it on a sustainable footing.
In a statement, the company said sales projections have not materialised and no viable investor was found.
