CLOSE to 1,000 happy taggers descended on Bruff Rugby Club at the weekend for the eighth annual Bull ‘n’ Booze tag rugby festival.
Organisers said there was huge interest in the event with people travelling to Kilballyowen from all over the country for the day long tag event.
40 teams took to the pitch - boasting about 600 players - roared on by an expectant crowd. The social aspect of the sport was well catered for, with a specially constructed marquee, an all day BBQ and live music by Hot Fuss.
Teams from as far away as Donegal, West Cork, Dublin and Galway - as well as a strong local representation - travelled to the event, which is growing every year in tandem with the constantly increasing interest in tag rugby, a sport open to both sexes.
Limerick Leader photographer Dave Gaynor was on hand to capture some of the best of the action in Bruff at the weekend. To order any of the pictures, contact our photographic department on 061-214542.
