JP MCMANUS and the man of the moment - AP McCoy - were in Murroe on Sunday evening to officially open the refurbished Muintir na Tire Hall.
They shook hands with the awaiting crowd, signed autographs and posed for photos. Fresh from his four thousand and second winner only hours earlier in Navan the humble jockey said he had “a fairly good week”.
“I was lucky that I rode my 4,000 winner on Thursday and I managed to add to that today in Navan. I was delighted to be invited down here with JP,” said Mr McCoy.
Mr McManus spoke about his memories of coming to Murroe with his dad as a young boy and the memories made last Thursday in Towcester.
“It is a great memory for the rocking chair. I’m delighted AP got there and I’m sure he won’t stop there. He is very professional and so dedicated,” said Mr McManus, who also touched on the success of Limerick’s hurlers in 2013 and looked forward to 2014.
