In pictures: Limerick hurler Niall Moran calls time on county career

Limerick hurler Niall Moran announced his retirement from inter-county hurling over the weekend - ending a senior career that stretches back to 2003.

Holder of two U-21 All Ireland medals, Moran won his first Munster championship this summer when he was part of the Limerick team that bridged a 17-year gap since their last title.

He also won a Division 2 league title in 2010, played in an All Ireland final in 2007 and with 44 championship appearances was just behind the record holder Mark Foley who retired with 48 ‘caps’.

Moran who has won the Fitzgibbon Cup with UL and county medals with Ahane is also a regarded coach and played a big role in establishing Ardscoil Ris as one of the top hurling schools in Munster.

Here we pick out some of the best photos from a fine career.
