There was just the single Premier League tie over the weekend when Geraldines took the opportunity to close the gap on the leading two with a 4-1 win over Mungret Regional at Garryowen on Sunday.
Dines had the perfect start to proceedings when James Fitzgerald struck a beauty from long range to the net to put the home side on their way.
Geraldines doubled the lead just before the break when Famara Kassana finished from close range after good work by James Fitzgerald.
Mungret got the upper hand in the second half and pulled one back through a Kian Barry free kick.
That goal kicked Dines out of their lethargy and they regained their lead when Kassana was fouled, and the resultant spot kick was converted by Tony Mambuana.
With time running out Shane Dillon completed the scoring when he was on hand to tuck away the rebound when Kevin Barry’s effort was blocked.
