DEFENDING champions Mungret St Pauls came out victorious from a thrilling Irish Wire Products Limerick SFC Round 1 tie with Adare on a 2-21 to 3-15 scoreline at a sun drenched Newcastle West.
With the sides level after two minutes of added time, an error from Adare netminder Jeffrey Alfred saw Mungret net a second goal that ultimately proved to be the difference between the sides.
It was a cruel blow to both Alfred and his Adare side after what can only be described as a classic from the clubs that have won the last two senior titles.
