THE Irish Chamber Orchestra is gearing up to end 2017 on a high note with a Christmas concert in the atmospheric surrounds of St Mary’s Cathedral.

The ICO will be joined for the seasonal Best of Christmas concert by world-renowned soprano, Ailish Tynan.

Featuring a feast of festive classics from Finland Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and Ireland, the St Mary’s concert is the ideal way to round off the year in perfect musical style. Tynan is a regular guest with the ICO and will raise the roof with works by Grieg and others.

The programme encompasses works by Sibelius, Vivaldi, Moraeus and more, with some traditional fare, including what is bound to be a stirring version of Oh Holy Night.

The Best of Christmas takes place in St Mary’s Cathedral on Thursday, December 14 at 8pm.
