The Cecilian Musical Society proudly presents Joe DiPietro’s All Shook Up which is based on Shakespeare’s ‘The Twelfth Night’ and built around hits made famous by the King himself, Elvis Presley.

The Cecilians are one of the country’s oldest musical societies, and have been treading the boards in Limerick since 1919. As it approach its centenary, it presents an action packed, fun-filled night’s entertainment for all the family to enjoy.

Following the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the motorcycle riding stud she falls for, ‘All Shook Up’ is a fast paced, quick witted, hilarious comedy with numerous love triangles to keep audiences guessing.

Making their Cecilian debuts are Gary Keane who plays the good-looking, roving roustabout Chad, Timmy Moloney who plays the obedient Dean, and Hilary Burke who plays the beautiful intellectual Ms Sandra.

They are joined by Kate Hurley who takes the lead role of mechanic Natalie, Jason Ronan who plays the quirky and awkward Dennis, Áine Hogan who plays the loveable Lorraine, Sheenagh Murphy who moves from stage manager to the front line plays the no-nonsense Sylvia.

The ever present Brian Henry plays the widowed Jim Haller. Gráinne Hartnett plays the conservative Mayor Matilda, and Glen Carr plays the law enforcing Earl.

This talented frontline is flanked by a 50 strong chorus who bring the stunning arrangements of the kings music to life.

Chairperson Jason Ronan says: “The Cecilians are delighted to stage another fun filled family show. Having assembled one of our strongest casts in recent times, choreographer Barbara Meany, director Des Henn, and musical director Shane Farrell have been putting the cast through their paces since late August to ensure that we again reach the highest of standards. The music of Elvis is known by all. However, these stunning arrangements of his music will leave audiences mesmerised.

“This coupled with the hilarious script will provide a great night’s entertainment,” he promised.

All Shook Up runs from November 23 - 26 in the Lime Tree Theatre. Tickets are available from www.limetreetheatre.ie and on 061-953400.
