Martin Finnin and Donald Teskey will take part in Ballyfin Demesne's artist in residency programme from September 7 - 10
TWO LIMERICK artists have been selected to take part in Ballyfin Demesne’s prestigious artist-in-residency programme.
As part of its Autumn Winter programme both Martian Finnin and Donald Teskey will allow for guests of the Co Laois hotel to observe their creative processes.
This opportunity follows on from the success of its inaugural artist-in-residency programme with UK-based artist Andrew Gifford.

Martin Finnin’s residency will run from September 7-10.
Martin was born in Limerick in 1968, having studied in the Limerick School of Art and briefly at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.
After this Martin moved to London where he began working on building sites while dedicating his spare time to drawing and studying at the National Gallery. This is where he developed a fascination with early Renaissance painting.
Donald Teskey’s residency will run from October 5-9.
Having also been born in Limerick he graduated from the Limerick College of Art and Design with a diploma in Fine Art in 1978.
Since 1992 he has built a substantial body of work as a painter of land and seascapes with the rugged beauty of Ireland’s western seabound a central focus in recent years.
Guests of Ballyfin Demesne will have the opportunity to witness the creative process first-hand, with the chance to observe each artist at work and engage in informal conversations throughout their stay.
Other artists that will be featured in the Autumn WInter residency programme are Francis Hamel, Hughie O’Donoghue and Sasha Sykes.
