THE EXCITING programme for the 2025 Limerick Wild Geese Festival has been revealed.
At a special launch event on June 9 at No.1 Pery Square Hotel & Spa, the vibrant and culturally rich schedule for the sixth edition of the Limerick Wild Geese Festival was unveiled.
The festivities begin early with a pre-festival hip hop and traditional music trail on June 26. Sponsored by Hennessy and part of the Twilight Thursdays initiative, the event will feature performances across city venues, including Mother Macs and Mickey Martins.
On July 3, a French sparkling wine summer party will be held at No.1 Pery Square in partnership with the Limerick & Clare Wine Lovers Club.

Friday, July 4 features a major highlight: the presentation of a rare 17th-century Jacobite manuscript to the Limerick Museum by Heavey Technology, followed by a talk from historian Dr. Harman Murtagh.
Saturday, July 5, opens with the unveiling of restoration work at the Patrick Sarsfield monument by the Mayor of Limerick and the French ambassador. The day continues with a Living History Camp at the Hunt Museum, live music, a pétanque tournament, and food stalls.
That evening, the popular Wild Geese Banquet will take place in St. John’s Church. Guests will enjoy a five-course meal by chef George Casey, wine, whiskey, and live entertainment in partnership with the Limerick Opera Festival.
The festival closes on Sunday, July 6 with a military parade led by Band 1 of the Defence Forces, a flag-raising at the UN Peacekeepers Memorial, and a free concert at Saint Mary’s Cathedral featuring a group of renowned Irish and international musicians.
Supported by a wide range of sponsors, including the French Embassy, Limerick City & County Council, and local businesses, the 2025 Wild Geese Festival is shaping up to be a standout summer celebration of history, heritage, and community.
