Poet John Liddy features in the festival this April
THE Limerick Writers' Centre has confirmed the return of April is Poetry Month in Limerick for 2025.
The festival will feature over 13 events and more than 20 performers throughout the 30 days of April.
Festival director Dominic Taylor emphasises that “poetry, like all genuine cultural activities, must have its roots among the clay and soil of its communities”.
Festival highlights include - the opening night at the White House Bar on April 2 featuring Scottish poets Hugh McMillan and Julie McNeill; the annual Desmond O'Grady Memorial Reading on April 16 with Ron Carey, John Liddy, and Anne Fitzgerald and a tribute to Limerick poetry stalwart Tom McCarthy on April 21.
