A NIGHT of “feast and revelry” and “tipsy dance and jollity” are in store later this month as Robert Burns night is celebrated in Dolan’s.
From the earlier time of 6pm on Saturday, January 25, the Dock Road pub will put on a typical Scottish meal to mark the night celebrating Scotland’s national poet.
Mayor of Limerick John Moran will be on hand to officially get the party going, and Mungret man Michael Potter will once again compere the event which he has organised for almost 20 years.
People will be invited to recite a few of Robbie Burns’s classic poems, including his famous Tam O’Shanter!

And the night will also see haggis and sandwiches served, along with neeps and tatties (parsnips and potatoes), alongside violin music.
There will be other poems and songs - and those who wish to throw in a piece of literature are more than welcome to do so.
There will be the singing of Scottish songs, and recitals of poetry as part of the event, set to be attended by many.
Entry is free to the gathering, but donations are being encouraged by the organisers.
Mr Potter is able to keep the event free due to the generous sponsorship of a number of regular donors.
All are welcome at the event, which will also be livestreamed on the internet. Call 061-314483 for more information.
