Festival celebrating traveller culture to take place in Limerick

Willzee will perform at the festival

A CELEBRATION of Traveller culture will take place in Limerick this Friday. 

The festival TravFest 2.0 celebrates Traveller culture through sharing, music, and with fun for all ages.

The event will feature artistis such as Sharyn Ward, Thomas Mc Carty, Willzee and T.O.H. 

Speaking of TravFest 2.0, Limerick rapper Willzee, said: "The idea was to attach different artistic elements from travelling community with the end result being a showcase for each piece of work. The impact of this festival has been incredible for all."

He added: "This is the first festival of its kind for travellers within Limerick City and County and we plan to keep it going, come be a part of history with us."

The initiative first started in 2022, with the help of The Gaff in Limerick. This year's event is supported by Welcome To The New World, The Gaff and The Learning Hub Limerick.

TravFest 2.0 will take place this Friday, July 28 from 5pm at Kileely House, New Road, Kileely. The event is free and open to all.
