My Week with Celia Holman Lee: Hooves, hats and high class for Limerick ladies!

IT WAS all fast horses and fierce fashion at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at The Curragh Racecourse over the weekend.
I was so delighted to be invited to one of the most exciting sporting events of the year. The weekend of horse racing was broadcast to over 60 countries worldwide.

We had a wonderful afternoon in the executive suite, with a beautiful view overlooking The Curragh in Kildare. I wore a dress from Brown Thomas, Limerick and my head piece was by Carol Kennelly, Tralee.

I was so excited to be asked to attend for the Most Stylish Lady award, and got to speak with this year's stunning winner, Anne-Marie Corbett from Mitchelstown in Cork.

Judges of the event had their work cut out for them! These included broadcaster and well-known personality, Lottie Ryan and professional dancer and Brian Dowling’s spouse, Arthur Gourounlian.

Anne-Marie also wore a sensational hat from Carol Kennelly, like myself, and her dress was a drop-dead gorgeous red peplum, off-the-shoulder style from Phoenix V, which I often wear myself.

Most Stylish Male went to Naas native Stuart O’Reilly who donned a navy check Remus Uomo suit, which he chose on the morning having flown from Australia! Congratulations to both well deserved winners!

I was overjoyed to reunite with Colm McLoughlin, CEO of airport retailer Dubai Duty Free and his wife, Breeda. I know the couple from my early modelling days, when I did many shoots in Shannon Airport.

They were generous sponsors with an array of prizes for winners of best dressed competitions, including that of return flights to Dubai with five star accommodation as well as a VIP experience in the luxurious The K Club.

The fashion throughout the weekend was outstanding, male and female alike. Many racegoers opted for floral pieces and vibrant styles. The class was undeniable.

I hope you all had a fun-filled weekend!
