LIMERICK is set to get a taste of summer as temperatures are expected to reach up to 20 degrees this Wednesday afternoon.

According to Met Eireann, it will be partly cloudy and sunny all throughout the day with no rain.

While it is expected to be generally cool in the morning, the mercury will rise quickly throughout the day and will reach 19 degrees by lunch time.

Temperatures will peak at 3pm and 4pm at 20 degrees, Met Eireann predicts.

It will cool slightly after 5pm as there will be a cloudy spell at around 6pm, but temperatures are not expected to dip below 12 degrees even by midnight.

Thursday will be cloudy with max temperatures reaching 17 degrees.
