A NUMBER of stores in Limerick have sold out of power banks and generators.

When contacted by Limerick Live, three stores said they had sold out of power banks with salespeople also saying torches and wellingtons are flying out the door.

A salesman from Tadhg O'Connor Furniture & Electrical in Rathkeale said they totally sold out of all power banks this morning. They would normally sell just one or two power banks a week but ahead of the adverse weather conditions forecast tomorrow, people have been stocking up on power banks and other items.

Meanwhile, their store in Newcastle West said they were nearly all sold out of torches. They've also seen an increase in the sale of generators and camp stoves along with batteries and wellingtons.

Barry O'Sullivan from Soundstore Limerick said their stores in Limerick, Tralee, Waterford and Cork "have pretty much all sold out of power banks."

He added that people have been looking for generators and gas camping stoves which they don't sell. All deliveries to the shop and warehouse have also been cancelled.

Harvey Norman Limerick said they were down to their last few power banks earlier today and that they've been "flying off the" shelves."
