Playgrounds in Limerick close due to icy conditions

Mungret playground is one of those affected

SOME playgrounds and parks have been shut in Limerick due to icy weather.

Mungret Playground and Castletroy Park and Playground will remain closed this Friday, January 3, due to safety concerns created by icy conditions.

Limerick City and County Council have released a notice of closures online, saying that a further assessment will be made on Saturday, January 4.

From January 3 to 5, all Council managed public amenities within the City and County areas of Limerick are being monitored and assessed and will only open if it is determined that ground conditions at each location are safe.

Limerick City and County Council regrets any inconvenience to users.
