Limerick Weather: Thursday, November 2, 2023

TODAY will start out cloudy and rather blustery with showers clearing. Drier weather will follow with some hazy sunshine. However another band of showers will push into the southwest later in the afternoon.

Highs of 9 to 12 degrees in fresh and gusty westerly winds.

Tonight: Dry for most overnight with a mix of cloud and clear spells though some showers will feed in with a moderate to fresh northwesterly wind. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees generally, milder near coasts and in parts of Ulster where it will be cloudiest.

Friday: A bright day with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Breezy for much of the day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, easing light to moderate westerly towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

Friday night: Early in the night, cloud will build from the southwest with outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing, mainly affecting Munster and south Leinster, turning heavier and more persistent there towards morning. Drier further north but mostly light variable breezes will allow fog will form, possibly dense in places, away from southern areas where winds will strengthen towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees.

Saturday: Generally cloudy for much of the day over the southern half of the country with moderate to fresh easterly winds along with further outbreaks of rain, heavy at times with a chance of spot flooding. Further north, fog will clear through the morning to leave a day of sunny spells and showers with light to moderate northeasterly winds. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

Saturday night: The last of the outbreaks of rain will clear southeastwards early in the night with long clear spells following. Showers will also occur, most frequent over northern and Atlantic coastal areas. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees. Light to moderate northerly winds will gradually back westerly, freshening on Atlantic coasts towards morning.

Sunday: A day of sunshine and showers, heaviest and most frequent in Atlantic coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds. Showers will persist in Atlantic areas overnight. Drier elsewhere with long clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong at times on Atlantic coasts.

Monday: Indications are that it will be a breezy day with sunshine and showers in the morning before a spell of showery rain moves into the west, tracking eastwards across the country and clearing into the Irish Sea with further showers following from the west. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty west to southwest winds.
