Met Éireann warns of 'spot flooding' in Limerick as weather warning comes into effect

A status yellow rain warning is in place

MET Éireann is warning of potential spot flooding in Limerick and across Munster this Tuesday morning and afternoon.

A status yellow rain warning, which was issued late on Monday night, came into effect at 3am.

"Spells of rain overnight and on Tuesday will be heavy at times leading to spot flooding," states the warning, which remains in effect until 3pm.

Caution is being urged while the warning, which applies to all of Munster and Galway, remains valid.

Motorists are being advised to be especially vigilant.
