Limerick Boat Club captain Alan Stack with artists Karina Guseva and Edwina Knight
LIMERICK Boat Club, one of Ireland's oldest rowing institutions, is set to host its “highly-anticipated” art auction in aid of the restoration of the club.
This “exclusive” auction will showcase an “impressive collection” of paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures from some of Ireland's most celebrated artists.
Featured talents include Jacob Stack, Aisling O'Connell, Ruth Riordan, Helen Stritch, Nell Stritch, Ilze Berzina, Eva Byrne, Aisling Burke O'Connor, Dr Tom Keane, and Grace O'Brien, among others.
The event will take place in The People's Museum of Limerick, nestled in Limerick's Georgian Quarter, on Sunday, October 20.
The event will begin with an early viewing of the artwork from 1pm to 2pm, allowing attendees to peruse the collection at their leisure. The auction itself, led by “esteemed” auctioneer Tony Tynne, will commence at 2pm.
To enhance the experience, live music will be performed throughout the event, and refreshments will be provided for all guests.
All proceeds from the auction will go towards the restoration of Limerick Boat Club, aiming to return this “beloved” institution to its former glory.
