BREAKING: ‘Upside down’ Limerick house crowned RTE’s Home Of The Year 2025

The winner of RTÉ’s Home of the Year has just been revealed in the series finale tonight

HOMEOWNERS Amy & Eoin Martin have lifted the coveted Home of the Year 2025 trophy for their 1970s home in Limerick.

In tonight’s final on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, the three judges Hugh Wallace, Amanda Bone and Siobhan Lam recapped the seven stunning finalists of the eleventh series of Home of the Year and announced Amy & Eoin as this year’s winners.

Winners Amy & Eoin Martin said: “ We’re thrilled to have won the Home of the Year, our home is very special to us, and we’re just delighted the judges enjoyed it as much as we do”

Amy and Eoin Martin live in the house in Limerick with their two sons.

The couple fell in love with the 1970s built house and set to work completely gutting and renovating the home.

Their work on the house brought it from a D3 BER rating to an A3.

They call the property an upside down home with the main living and kitchen spaces on the first floor to make the most of their spectacular garden and the natural light.

The home is a passion project for Amy, who is an interior designer and loves having the space to unleash her creativity, always in the middle of a project in the house.

The family says they never feel blue coming back from holiday as, for them, it’s the nicest place they could return to.

The judges were very impressed with the Limerick home, with judge Siobhan Lam saying: “I’m absolutely thrilled the Modern 1970’s home is the winner of Home of the Year season 11. This home radiates joy and it’s a perfect representation of the homeowners, you could see their love and dedication to this home everywhere. From the warm, vibrant colour palette to the delicious retro details throughout – this home ticked all the boxes. I’m so delighted for Amy and Eoin – well deserved winners!” Their unique upside-down house featured in this season's fourth episode of the show."

Judge Hugh Wallace also expressed how well-deserving the home was of the win, “I love the 70s and this home was like Brady bunch amazing colours and connection with a stunning garden. Brilliant winner”

Judge Amanda Bone said: “Series 11 was a pleasure to be part of. Among the five series I have been involved in, it stood out for having the most competitive, emotionally charged, and challenging final to judge. This intensity was a testament to the standard of homes showcased in this year's competition.”

Judge Siobhan Lam added: “My first season on Home of the Year has been an absolute joy! I have loved peeking into this season’s sensational homes with my fellow judges. It's been a real honour to explore these beautiful, cleverly designed and creative Irish homes – I’ve found the season fun, exciting and incredibly inspirational.”

The Limerick family’s home was judged on the RTÉ show’s final episode of the season along with other finalist homes from Tipperary, Wicklow, Kildare, and three from Dublin.

All episodes of Series 11 and earlier series of Home of the Year are available to watch on RTÉ Player.
