TREATY United will be looking to build on last week's draw with Munster rivals Kerry FC at the Markets Field when returning to action in the First Division tonight.

Last Friday's 2-2 draw with their provincial rivals was the Shannonsiders’ first point of the 2026 League of Ireland First Division season.

Treaty were yet to get a point on the board heading into last week's tie, but a double from Cian Curtis earned the Super Blues' a deserved draw on the night.

"I thought we were the better team," Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett told Leader Sport after the match.

"Kerry are a well drilled side and I thought we created chances but we're happy to get a point on the board and to come away scoring a couple of goals.

"I thought we kept the ball really well, we didn't panic, we were decent on the ball, we were patient with good build up so I'm happy enough with the performance."

Treaty will be taking on a Finn Harps side who have made a positive start to the season this Friday night.

'Harps' have five points on the board after four rounds of fixtures in the new First Division season.

After an opening day defeat to Athlone Town in the Midlands, Kevin McHugh's 'Harps' side got the better of high-flying UCD and followed up that impressive win with draws against Cobh Ramblers and Wexford FC, leaving the Donegal-based side sitting sixth in the table.

There were no draws to be had between the pair on the four occasions in which they met last season in the First Division.

Last February, Treaty recorded a dominant 3-1 win over Friday's opponents at the Markets Field.

Tommy Barrett's side recorded yet another victory over 'Harps' in Ballybofey in May, yet again running out with a two-goal winning margin, 0-2.

The Garryowen-based club's fortunes against their Ulster opponents changed towards the end of the season with Treaty losing the reverse fixtures, both on the same scoreline, 1-0.

Barrett is under no illusions as to how tough the 'Harps' challenge will be.

"It's never easy up there, we'll go up and we'll have to play a different way, hopefully we can get a result."
