Selected ahead of Athlone Town’s Roisin Molloy and Wexford ace Ellen Molloy, the 22-year-old Flocchini has been superb for The Shannonsiders with 11 league goals registered – two of which came in August.

Hailing from Nevada, United States, Flocchini is in her second spell with Treaty United following a short stint in 2024 but her impact so far this season has been instrumental in helping her team climb up the league table to fourth position.

"I feel like I wouldn’t be getting this without my team-mates and coaches pushing me everyday to get better. We have all been putting in a lot of hard work and the pay-off is pretty special," said Flocchini.

"This season is the best that we’ve ever done, at least so far. So that part is surprising to some people but I don’t think it’s surprising to us because of the amount of hard work we put in as a team every week and the coaching staff does. It was a personal goal of mine this season to help us finish in the best position possible, to get into the top four or top five and that is still possible.

"I feel like my role is connected to everything in the way that we play. Sean (Russell, Head Coach) has been helping us really well in encouraging us to keep moving the ball and keep the game flowing and keep the tempo. It’s nice how we try to work it through the middle so I feel like I’m involved in everything and I like that responsibility."

The San Jose State graduate has been able to keep family and friends back home updated on her League of Ireland adventure due to games being live streamed on LOITV. But also through social media because so many of her goals have gone viral this season.

"My parents have watched every game this season and my brother has caught a couple of games too. They’ve set the alarm to wake up but it’s not been too bad," laughed Flocchini.

"They have Twitter and Instagram so they’ll send me all of the stuff or they’ll text me and say ‘hey, did you see this?’, which is really sweet. It’s going really well and to get recognised is amazing, but I do have to credit my team-mates too."

Flocchini becomes just the second Treaty United player to win this award following on from team-mate Madison McGuane, who claimed it in May.

Sean Russell’s team are away to Sligo Rovers on Saturday, September 6 as the league enters the business end of the season.
