Change of day for Treaty United's FAI Cup clash with Cork

TREATY UNITED'S FAI Cup first round fixture with Cork City that was fixed for this Friday evening has been moved to the following day.
At the request of Cork, Treaty have re-arranged the game for Saturday afternoon on compassionate grounds after the recent passing of Ruairí Keating’s father Ciaran. The cup clash will now take place at the Garryowen venue at 2pm.
Treaty United come into the game in a rich vein of form having earned two wins and a draw from their three games since the season restarted after the midseason break in the SSE Airtricity League First Division.
Meanwhile, Cork have struggled in the Premier Division since they returned after winning the second tier competition in 2022. They are currently in ninth place.
The FAI released the following statement this afternoon confirming the postponement. "The Football Association of Ireland can confirm that this Friday’s Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup fixture between Treaty United and Cork City at Markets Field has been rescheduled for Saturday at 14:00 following a request from Cork City on compassionate grounds after the recent passing of Ruairí Keating’s father Ciaran.
"Both Clubs and the FAI appreciate the understanding of supporters at this difficult time. Tickets purchased for the original fixture will remain valid for the new date."
