Mario Rosenstock will bring his stellar impressions to Limerick in March
THE CREATOR of beloved Gift Grub and the voice behind the first laughs of the day for many radio listeners, Mario Rosenstock is bringing his live show to Limerick.
Although many have grown to love Mario for his morning impressions on the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, Mario's links to Limerick are strong, as his late grandfather was the GP in Kilfinane.

He describes the new tour as an updated version of the last tour, which finished up in November.
As his work revolves around so many current, political and news events, he is constantly keeping his finger on the pulse of what's happening in sports, news and the world at large.
“The world is moving so fast, so many things happen on a day to day basis and the show keeps evolving,” he says animatedly.
While he listens to up to five hours of podcasts a day, he says that he loves how much the show changes and he loves bringing new voices into the mix.
“I love to keep informed. I constantly have new ideas,” Mario says.
Speaking about what will make the Limerick gig stand out, he says that he will bring local touches to his script.
“Everything is to do with Limerick,” he says, explaining how he rewrites whole sections of his script to make it more local.
He says that at one point, the whole venue will be turned into a Trump rally, with the audience finding themselves as Trump supporters.
Speaking about how he can change his physical appearance for a character, he says that coming out on stage with a scarf, glasses and beard, everyone immediately knows that Tommy Tiernan is going to start talking.
There have been so many characters on Gift Grub over the years, with favourites like Joan Burton, Michael Noonan and Ronan O'Gara and Roy Keane who are now possibly even more relevant than back then.
The show will also feature a song from the Wolfe Tones - a not so subtle jibe at the “plastic Paddy.”
Mario has been working with Ian Dempsey for many years now.
“Ian is my sounding board,” he says, adding that it takes a lot of work to put the show together, map it out and work out how the audience will receive or engage with different elements of it.
Mario Rosenstock will perform at the Lime Tree Theatre on March 7 at 8pm.
