THE HIGHLY-anticipated Limerick St Patrick’s Festival 2025 has been officially launched, promising to bring unparalleled excitement to the city and county with this year’s festival theme, ‘A More Fun Limerick.'
The theme sets the stage for a vibrant celebration filled with creativity, community spirit, and endless entertainment.

Enjoy enchanting performances for children, mesmerising Irish folk music, and international bands battling it out on the streets of Limerick with the 53rd International Band Championship on Sunday, March 16, the only event of its kind in Ireland. The ever-popular musical jamboree in Arthur’s Quay Park follows the parade.
Other festivities include lively street shows, engaging storytelling sessions, and, of course, vibrant parades across the county. Find times and locations for parades near you here.
There will be traditional Irish dance events, cultural celebrations, fashion showcases, and markets filled with crafts and antiques.
Music lovers can enjoy concerts, nostalgic tribute shows, and lively music sessions. The festival also features comedy and a musical breakfast.
Mayor of Limerick, John Moran is getting ready to embrace the fun, saying: "I’m excited to be part of Limerick’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations this year, my first as Mayor. This year’s theme, ‘A More Fun Limerick,’ truly captures the essence of Limerick and of course having fun is a key ingredient in making it one of the best places to live in Europe.
"I invite everyone to join in celebrating our rich culture and heritage with a touch of fun and excitement. I look forward to welcoming visitors from near and far to experience the magic of our events and the warmth of our community.”

Príomh Comhairleoir of Limerick Council, Cllr Dan McSweeney added:

This festival also serves as an exciting curtain raiser for other major events in Limerick, including Riverfest on the May Bank Holiday weekend, setting the stage for a year filled with unforgettable experiences."
Festivals and Events Coordinator at Limerick Council, Eileen Coleman, shared her enthusiasm, saying:

The 53rd Limerick International Band Championship will take place on Sunday, March 16 at 12 noon while the traditional St Patrick’s Day Parade in Limerick City will take place on Monday, March 17 at 12 noon.
The public are invited to enjoy a musical Jamboree at Arthur’s Quay Park following the International Band Championship parade on the Sunday.
The vibrant and colourful St Patrick’s Day parade will follow the same route as 2024, making its way down O’Connell Street before moving on to Henry Street and ending at Arthur’s Quay Park.
The International Band Championship will also follow the same route as last year but the start point has moved to the Junction of O’Connell Street and Barrington Street.
The Universal access area for both parades is at The Crescent, O’Connell Street.
