In Pictures: All set for the the biggest night of the year in Limerick Greyhound Stadium

THE final of the Matchbook Betting Exchange St Leger takes place this Saturday December 1o in Limerick Greyhound Stadium.
And, there is local interest in the show piece event of the Limerick racing schedule.

This 550 Classic will see €30,000 go to the winner, €8000 to second and €4000 to third.

This week a preview event was held in Limerick Greyhound Stadium and photographer Brendan Gleeson was among the attendance.

This Saturday evening Doon trainer Pat Buckley goes in search of a third Leger title with Bobsleigh Dream in trap one for Co Kerry owner Willie Joe Murphy of Gneeveguilla.

Also in the final six are Athea owners Dan and Peter Stackpoole with Annagh Bailey, who runs for trainer Rachel Wheeler.
It's a final that has runners from a host of top trainers' Pat Buckley, Dolores Ruth, Rachel Wheeler, Graham Holland, Patrick Guilfoyle and Peter Cronin.

It was both dogs with Limerick connections that won the respective semi finals last Saturday night at the Dock Road venue.
On the night, Bobsleigh Dream continued her brilliant form as she came from well off-the-pace to win comfortable, while Annagh Bailey produced a 7/1 shock in the second semi with a time of 29.51 - the quickest of the two semi finals. The time for Bobseligh Dream was 29.54.
