MUNSTER have been drawn with Saracens, Edinburgh and Racing Metro in Pool 5 of next season’s Heineken Cup.

Saracens reached the semi-final of the English Premiership play-offs last month, before losing out to the Leicester Tigers.

Saracens also reached the quarter-final stages of last season’s Heineken Cup, but suffered a heavy home defeat to Clermont Auvergne.

In last season’s Heineken Cup, Racing Metro failed to progress to the knock-out stages from a group which also included London Irish, Edinburgh and Cardiff. However, Racing reached the play-offs in the French Top 14, losing out to eventual finalists Toulon.

Edinburgh, coached by former Munster and Ireland star Michael Bradley reached the semi-finals of last season’s Heineken Cup, before eventually bowing out to Ulster.

More than 28,000 tickets have already been sold for next May’s Heineken Cup final.

Rob Penney’s first Heineken Cup fixture as Munster head coach will take place in mid-October. Dates and kick-off times will be confirmed by the tournament organisers in the coming weeks.
