Limerick to get presidental reception in Áras an Uachtaráin to mark All-Ireland win

The President of Ireland Michael D Higgins meets Sean Finn prior to the All-Ireland SHC final last August in Croke Park

THE Limerick senior hurlers are Áras an Uachtaráin bound this Tuesday for a reception from President Michael D Higgins.

Players, management, Limerick GAA County Board officials and family and friends of the 2018 All-Ireland SHC winners are invited by the president and his wife Sabina to their Phoenix Park residence for a special reception.

Last August, President Higgins was in attendance in Croke Park to witness Limerick end a 45-year wait to return the Liam MacCarthy Cup to the county. As is customary, he greeted both Limerick and Galway players as part of the pre-match formalities on August 19 last.

President Higgins has hosted a number of receptions for varying sporting teams in Áras an Uachtaráin. Galway will hosted by President Higgins on the back of their 2017 All-Ireland SHC win and in recent weeks, 2018 All-Ireland camogie champions Cork visited Áras an Uachtaráin for a reception.
