Lee Reeves
LIMERICK'S Lee Reeves makes his professional boxing debut this weekend - in Canada!
The former Corpus Christi welterweight flies out to Toronto this Tuesday ahead of his first fight in the paid ranks this Saturday, November 17.
The 23 year old Limerick man has linked up with Lee Baxter Promotions in Toronto.
A former national underage champions, Reeves will have a familiar face in his corner with Declan Fitzgerald.
At the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Reeves will face Mexican Benito Aburto over four rounds.
Corpus Christi Boxing Club have wished both Reeves and Fitzgerald all the best in the paid ranks.
"Corpus Christi Boxing Club, would like to take this opportunity to wish the very best to Lee Reeves on his up and coming debut professional fight. We would also like to congratulate Declan Fitzgerald who has recently taken up his position as a professional boxing coach (BUI) after a life-time as both amateur boxing coach and referee with the Irish Athletic Boxing Association and of course no stranger to the ring in his younger days. Declan has been dedicated to Corpus Christi Boxing Club from its foundation, responsible for its rock solid standing it boasts to-date," said a statement from the club.
Reeves follows Graham McCormack into the pro-boxing ranks.
Raheen's McCormack will face Cork based, Jade Karam in a light middleweight bout on December 7 in Mayo. McCormack has won his three outings to-date.
