Mikey O'Callaghan of Villiers School, North Circular Road in Limerick presents his Junior Certificate Art Project to Thomond Park Museum.

The idea for the project came about from Mikey's love of rugby and the result is a wonderfully formed ceramic Gilbert IRFU rugby ball and kicking tee.

The initial stage of the project involved Mikey taking a plaster cast of an old rugby ball and then constructed the ball and kicking tee from clay.

The two pieces were then fired to over 1000 degrees and finally painted by Mikey to give them the rugged look of a rugby ball and tee.

The project is now on permanent display in Thomond Park Museum.
