Stars of World golf to open Golf Course at Adare Manor

The new look 18th at Adare Golf Club in Adare Manor

World golf stars Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Shane Lowry and Paul McGinley will this Friday launch the new golf course at Adare Manor with an exhibition game on the Tom Fazio redesigned course.

Competing for a €500,000 charity prize fund, donated by Mr JP McManus, the exhibition match will see close to 2,000 spectators watch Harrington and Lowry take on McIlroy and McGinley over 18 holes at the magnificently redesigned course in the village of Adare.

The charities set to benefit from this afternoon's even are the Rory Foundation, The McGinley foundation, Temple Street Hospital and the Padraig Harrington Charitable Foundation.

The golf course re-design was undertaken by world renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio, who was ably aided by Mr Alan MacDonnell and his 50 strong team of greenkeepers at the Adare Manor.

With 66 tour victories and seven major wins to their names, the golf on offer at the famous venue today is sure to be top notch.
