LIMERICK athlete Ciara Neville has been selected to compete at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham at the start of next month.
Emerald AC athlete Neville will compete in the 60m in the prestigious championships which take place from March 1-4.
Teenager Neville, coached by Noelle Morrissey, finished in third place at the Irish Life Health National Indoor Championships in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown on Sunday in an impressive time of 7.35 seconds.
Amy Foster, of City of Lisburn, sped to a national 60m record of 7.27 seconds in claiming the title, while Bandon AC’s Joan Healy finished second in a time of 7.31.
Reacting to her selection, Castletroy College student Ciara Neville Tweeted: “Couldn’t be happier to be selected to represent Ireland at the @iaaf_athletics World Indoor Champs in less than two weeks time.
“Grateful to @athleticsireland for this opportunity and excited to go out and give it my best!.”
