ST MUNCHIN’S College become the sixth and final Limerick side in Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Cup action this Thursday when the Corbally side travel to West Cork to face Bandon Grammar School.
First into action will be the St Munchin’s College Junior Cup side which takes on Bandon Grammar School at Bandon RFC at 1pm.
The game will be followed by the meeting of St Munchin’s and Bandon Grammar in the first round of the Senior Cup at 2.30pm.
Two Limerick sides have recorded first round wins in the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Senior Cup to date, Crescent College Comprehensive and Glenstal Abbey School.
In the Junior Cup, Crescent College Comprehensive and Castletroy College recorded first round wins.
The five winners of the first round ties will advance to the last-eight stage with four of those teams getting a home draw.
One of the five losing teams will be given a bye into the quarter-finals with the other four going into the play-offs to decide the remaining two quarter-finalists – the play-offs will be played on the week beginning next Monday, January 22.
The draw to decide the bye and the play-off games is set to be made following the conclusion of Thursday’s Senior Cup fixture in Bandon.
